The Galle District Scout Association, part of the larger Sri Lanka Scout Movement, has a rich history and deep-rooted commitment to fostering youth development and community service. Scouting in Sri Lanka dates back to 1912, with the movement being introduced to Galle shortly after its inception in the country. Over the years, the Galle Scouts have been actively involved in various community projects, such as the "Zero Waste" initiative, demonstrating their commitment to environmental stewardship and civic responsibility. The association prides itself on instilling values of leadership, teamwork, and self-reliance in young people, preparing them to be responsible citizens.
